What is Starloom?

Starloom is a daily cosmic-astrology app. Once per day, it weaves a single personalized reading from six radiant threads — one for each area of your life — that crystallize into six glowing stones:

Your reading is personalized from a private blueprint you create — your name, birth date, and auto-derived zodiac sign, plus optional details (birth time, birth location, MBTI type, blood type) that sharpen the reading. The reading is generated by Claude, the AI from Anthropic, using your own API key.

Getting started

1. Create your blueprint

On first launch, Starloom walks you through a short setup: your name, your birth date, and optional details. The more you share, the more finely tuned the reading — but only name and birth date are required. Everything you enter is stored only on your device.

2. Add your Anthropic API key

Starloom generates readings using your own Anthropic (Claude) API key. You add it once.

How to get an Anthropic API key:

1. Go to https://console.anthropic.com/settings/keys.
2. Sign in or create an Anthropic account.
3. Create a new API key. It will look like sk-ant-....
4. Copy the key.

How to paste it into Starloom:

1. Open the Cosmos tab, then tap API configuration.
2. Paste your key into the "Your API key" field.
3. Tap Save API key.

Your key is stored in your device's secure store (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore) — not in ordinary storage, and never sent to us.

Note: Anthropic API usage is billed by Anthropic to your own account, based on their pricing — Starloom does not charge you and takes no cut. The app is designed to use just one short request per daily reading.

How the daily reading works

• One reading per day. When you open Starloom, it weaves your reading for today and caches it for the whole calendar day, so re-opening the app shows the same reading rather than spending another request.
• Pull to refresh. Want a fresh take? On the Today screen, pull down from the top to re-weave a brand-new reading for today.
• A new day, a new weave. When the calendar day changes, the previous day's reading is set aside and a new one is woven on your next visit.
• Editing your blueprint re-weaves. If you change your profile details, Starloom generates a new reading to reflect them.

Your privacy, in brief

Starloom is built to keep your information yours:

• Your blueprint (name, birth date, optional birth time/location, derived zodiac, optional MBTI/blood type) and your readings live only on your device.
• Your API key is stored in the device's OS secure store.
• The only data that leaves your device is the reading request, sent with your own key directly to Anthropic (Claude) at api.anthropic.com — or, if you've configured your own Cloudflare Worker relay, forwarded through that relay you operate. It is subject to Anthropic's privacy and usage policies (https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy), and Anthropic does not use API inputs or outputs to train its models by default.
• No accounts. No analytics. No ads. No developer backend. We never see your blueprint or your readings.

Troubleshooting

"The cosmos is clouded"

This message appears when a reading could not be generated. It usually comes down to one of these — try them in order:

1. Check your internet connection. Generating a reading is the one time Starloom needs to be online. Reconnect, then tap Try again.
2. Check your API key. Open the Cosmos tab → API configuration (or tap Open settings on the error screen). Make sure a valid key starting with sk-ant- is saved. If you're unsure, clear it and paste a fresh one, then Save API key.
   • "Invalid API key" means the saved key was rejected — re-copy it from https://console.anthropic.com/settings/keys, watching for stray spaces.
   • "No API key configured" means no key is saved yet — add one.
3. If it mentions a rate limit / "the stars are crowded," you've sent requests too quickly, or your Anthropic account has hit a limit. Wait a moment and tap Try again.
4. Check your Anthropic account. Make sure your account is in good standing and has available credit / billing set up, since readings use your own key.
5. Pull to refresh / reopen. If a single stone reads as "veiled" or could not be fully read, pull down to re-weave.

A reading looks incomplete or a stone says it's "veiled"

Occasionally the weave doesn't fully resolve. Just pull to refresh to channel it again.

I want to change my details

Open your profile/blueprint in the app and update any field. Saving changes re-weaves your reading.

I want to remove my API key

Open the Cosmos tab → API configuration and tap Clear API key.

I want to remove all my data

Uninstall Starloom. Because everything is stored on your device, uninstalling deletes your blueprint, your cached readings, and your stored API key.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account?
No. Starloom has no accounts and no sign-in.

Why do I need my own API key?
Starloom uses Claude (Anthropic) to weave your reading. Bringing your own key keeps the app private — your reading request goes straight to Anthropic under your account — and puts you in control of usage.

Does it cost anything?
The app itself doesn't charge you for readings. The AI requests are billed by Anthropic to your own account at their rates; each daily reading is a single short request.

Does Starloom work offline?
You can view a reading that's already been woven for today offline. Generating a new reading (including pull-to-refresh) needs an internet connection.

How do I delete my data?
Remove your key via Cosmos → API configuration → Clear API key, or uninstall the app to erase your blueprint, cached readings, and stored key entirely. Everything is on-device, so there's nothing on a server to delete.

Is my data sold or tracked?
No. There are no analytics, no ad SDKs, and no developer-side data collection. See the Privacy Policy.

Is this real fortune-telling?
Starloom is offered for reflection and entertainment. You author your own destiny.
